RIO GRANDE VALLEY
…..Here is a short forecast for the Rio Grande Valley….
A cold front is on its way toward the Valley, and it will be a big one for this time of year. There is still some question as to the exact timing of the front. One computer model says Monday morning, while others say Monday afternoon. The timing of the front is important for determining tomorrow’s high temperatures. If its slow coming in, afternoon high may still reach the upper 80s/lower 90s. If its early, temperatures may stay in the 70s the whole day. I believe the front will pass through Starr County in the morning and eventually push through the Valley by late afternoon. There is a chance (40%) of precipitation along and behind the front. It looks like right now the best chance will be the coastal counties of the Valley. However, models are showing isolated showers for the entire Valley behind the front.
Afternoon highs for Tuesday look very pleasant, in the middle to upper 70s! Yes, I said the highs will be in the 70s. There will still be a slight shot of morning showers on Tuesday, but clearing by afternoon. Temperatures will be in the middle to upper 50s around the Valley early Tuesday morning.
For Wednesday, temperatures will remain on the pleasant side with winds slowly shifting out of the east by Wednesday evening. Afternoon highs will be in the lower to middle 80s, with temperatures still in the middle 70s near the island. This will certainly be the best 3 days we’ve had in a while!
