Surface high pressure in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as subsiding air aloft, are keeping things hot and dry for the Rio Grande Valley.  Any chance of showers from the sea breeze are diminished because of these occurrences.  This weather pattern will continue throughout the week and into the weekend, with no relief from the heat in sight.  Temperatures will range from the lower 90s near the coast to 103 in Starr County this week.  Please stay as cool as possible and don’t burn anything.
