Irene remains a Category 3 hurricane with winds of 115 mph.

Residents of North Carolina and northward along the eastern coast need to start preparing for this storm NOW!  Its current path has it clipping Cape Hatteras Island and possibly even further onshore! Here is the National Hurricane Center’s forecast track over the next 5 days:
